ARCREX – Retail Experts GmbH takes over exclusive responsibility for the Germany-wide expansion of Factorymarket

Leipzig-based ARCREX, founded in May of this year, is exclusively responsible for the Germany-wide expansion of Factorymarket. Factorymarket is one of the fastest growing retail tech companies in Europe. The company’s Omni-Channel concept combines a global online marketplace with offline store presences, operates from offices in Berlin, Moscow and China and currently employs more than 130 people. Factorymarket has its sights firmly set on expanding its presence in Europe through stationary stores and has now commissioned the retail experts from ARCREX exclusively with the expansion of the company in Germany.

ARCREX divides the expansion of Factorymarket into three phases: From 2018 in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia; from 2019 additionally in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse; and from 2020 finally the nationwide expansion in cities with more than 30,000 inhabitants. The company is looking for retail space from approx. 700 – 2,000 m² over one or two levels in new or existing buildings in well-frequented pedestrian zones, attractive specialist market locations, shopping centres, district centres and in the vicinity of colleges and universities.

Factorymarket is a fast-growing, globally active company in new retail and a pioneer of highly developed, highly scalable technology. Via the mobile app and the first store near Berlin, the company currently sells more than 10,000 low-cost products every day. Factorymarket presents itself as the first true Omni-Channel mass market concept and sets standards in the New Retail sector. New Retail enables customers to enjoy a seamless shopping experience by integrating mobile shopping into the classic retail experience. Factorymarket also connects manufacturers with consumers and has a better understanding of customer preferences. In this way, changes in consumer habits can be better predicted. The result is products that actually interest customers.

ARCREX operates as an independent specialist area under the umbrella brand of the ARCADIA Investment Group. ARCREX independently and neutrally supports and guides retailers, online retailers, restaurateurs and service companies – who do not have their own expansion department – in their development and expansion. The Leipzig based company will initially operate nationally with a view to operating throughout Europe. The Managing Director is Gerald Finke who, as a member of management, was responsible for the expansion of Woolworth, Kik and Tedi, and therefore some 4,000 lease agreements and store openings. Gerald Finke heads ARCREX – Retail Experts GmbH together with the Managing Director of the ARCADIA Investment GmbH, Alexander Folz.
