The conversion of the “Otto Dix Passage” in the heart of the city of Gera is progressing. Only a few weeks after the completion of the rental space for the anchor tenant DMS Daten Management Service GmbH, the ARCADIA Investment Group handed over an approximately 250 square metre rental space to BARMER Krankenkasse on schedule. The new BARMER office is established on the first floor of the inner-city shopping arcade at Johannisstraße 5 in Gera and has a ground-level, barrier-free, separate entrance. At the same time, extension work is underway for the first fitness studio of the Fit/One fitness chain in Gera, which covers approximately 1,900 square metres. The rental space for the new studio is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2022.

Already in April 2018, an investment company of ARCADIA Investment Group had acquired the former shopping centre and announced plans for an expansion and conversion. ARCADIA has been revitalising the building since early September 2020. The general contractor for the conversion of the “Otto Dix Passage” is Prehn Bauprojektmanagement GmbH from Lubmin. After its reopening, the newly designed shopping arcade will have around 16,500 square metres of usable space, meet modern building standards designed for sustainability, and have an attractive tenant mix with various types of use.
