The Leipzig ARCADIA Investment GmbH supported the sale of the traditional Petershof property in the Leipzig inner city to the Berlin Jachimowicz Group in an advisory capacity. Herewith they have already secured the second property this year in Leipzig’s top location. The seller of the property is one of the funds looked after by INTERNOS Global Investors. The purchasing price of Petershof which is predominantly used for the retail trade was tacitly agreed upon by the contractual parties. Petershof boasts a total of approx. 17,000 square meters of retail, office and residential space as well as valuable underground parking facilities.

The new owner – who had already at the start of the year acquired Merkurhaus which is a prominent landmark in Leipzig’s Peterstraße – is also planning an extensive refurbishment of Petershof as part of restructuring the approx. 10,000 square meter retail space. Over and above that a hotel with approx. 150 rooms is expected to move in. Petershof recently housed the fashion store Kult as its main retail tenant. “In collaboration with the new owner we will develop a future-oriented utilisation concept for this space in the very best location which has to live up to this growing metropolis – and which offers retailers an attractive basis for business”, said Mr Folz, Managing Partner of ARCADIA Investment GmbH, who also just moved his two-storey company headquarters to Petershof at the end of last year.

The building is one of the most well-known properties in the inner city of Leipzig. The historic facade conceals a modern new building that was only constructed ten years ago, with retail space, office levels and exclusive residential flats. The facade which is visible today was erected by the Leipzig architect, Alfred Liebig from 1927 to 1929. Due to his striking architecture the eight-storied Petershof stands out significantly above the diverse mix of buildings in the Leipzig inner city.
