First property in Gera with DGNB certification
The Otto Dix Passage was awarded the DGNB Platinum certificate as a sustainable building by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The modernised shopping centre thus sets new standards in the areas of sustainability, technology, economy and functionality. It offers owners and users more comfort while minimising environmental impact and reducing ancillary costs. This results in a higher market value and long-term value stability.
As the first refurbished office and commercial building in central Germany to be certified by the DGNB, and one of only about ten mixed-use properties in Europe with DGNB certification, the Otto Dix Passage reflects its commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
“After the DGNB pre-certification in gold in 2019 with a degree of fulfilment of 76.5 %, we are even more pleased to now hold the higher platinum award in our hands with an overall fulfilment of 84.2 %,” reports Björn Franke, Head of Planning and Construction at ARCADIA Investment GmbH and at the same time lead project manager of the Otto Dix Passage in Gera.
Alexander Folz, Managing Partner of ARCADIA Investment GmbH, adds: “For us, it is of enormous importance that the Otto Dix Passage not only offers its customers a pleasant working and shopping experience, but is also future-oriented in keeping the environmental impact as low as possible while using resources efficiently. This combination of comfort and responsibility is rarely found and makes the Otto Dix Passage a showcase for sustainable development in the construction industry.”
