ARCADIA plans residential development in Naunhof near Leipzig on a 46,000 square metre site

In the town of Naunhof, southeast of Leipzig, ARCADIA Investment Group is planning a new residential development. The residential quarter “Im Sonnenwinkel”, with a mix of single-family houses, terraced houses and semi-detached houses, will be built on a total area of around 46,000 square metres on Erdmannshainer Straße. In addition, the building project should possibly be expanded to include a day care centre and a retirement home. Part of the site has already been sold to ALDI Einkauf GmbH & Co. OHG, which plans to build a new supermarket to round off the residential area. With the resolution of the town of Naunhof of 8 May 2020, the newly drawn up development plan for the residential development became legally binding. The clearing of the building site began at the end of February 2021. The development work is going to start in May this year.

The neighbourhood development will be divided into two construction phases and will comprise up to 74 building plots for detached houses, terraced houses and semi-detached houses. Depending on the demand situation, the houses will be offered for sale as well as for rent. To improve the connection of the housing estate to the public transport system, the development plan provides for the construction of an additional bus stop on Erdmannshainer Straße.

“We are pleased that the foundation for this comprehensive residential project has been laid and that we can start with the development work. The development of the site addresses the steadily growing demand for building plots in and around Leipzig,” explains Alexander Folz, Managing Partner of ARCADIA. The increasing population growth in Leipzig is causing a strong demand for housing within the Leipzig metropolitan region.

Naunhof is characterised by a variety of local recreation areas especially the surrounding forests and lakes. All facilities for daily needs, such as schools, doctors and shopping facilities surround the project site. From the “Im Sonnenwinkel” neighbourhood, Leipzig city centre, about 20 kilometres away, can be reached in about 20 minutes by public transport. Naunhof has good transport connections due to its close proximity to the A14 / A38 motorway intersection.
